Bayport Financial Services Ghana has been conducting business since 2003. Bayport is a financial services provider that provides unsecured credit in several African countries; in Ghana, we have branches in 23 cities and we have become the largest credit provider in this country.
From the outset, Bayport Financial Services Ghana realised that we would have to gain an intimate understanding of the local people if we were to design financial products that suit their needs. Our local partnerships with trade unions and employers have given us that insight; partners like the Ghana Mineworkers’ Union and the Ghana National Association of Teachers.

Bayport’s clients in Africa benefit from accessible, responsible unsecured credit. This has made Bayport Financial Services one of the leading unsecured credit providers in Ghana, Tanzania, South Africa, Uganda and Zambia.
Bayport’s clients can borrow money at affordable rates, whereas many of our “unbanked” clients previously had to resort to the loan sharks to borrow money, often at hundreds of percent of interest per year. That is why Bayport Financial Services had made affordable credit available to more people. Our mobile units even visit clients that live far from the closest Bayport branch, bringing our services to rural teachers and farmers.

Bayport South Africa was established in 2004 and rapidly became a leading supplier of unsecured credit on the local market. Bayport Financial Services’ local operations include a multi-faceted distribution network with fixed branches and mobile units, to ensure that we can bring our financial products to all our clients, irrespective where in the country they live.
Bayport Financial Services’ remarkable growth is due to our unique way of doing business, which we call “The Bayport Way”. It holds that we should forge close relationships with local stakeholders, industry and trade unions and that our close understanding of our target market would ensure long-term success.
